Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, People Operations owns and scales the core people operations programs and processes that directly shape the employee experience, engagement, and retention across the organization. This role is both strategic and hands-on, balancing operational excellence with thoughtful design that puts people first.

As a trusted advisor to leaders and cross-functional partners, you’ll guide decisions related to people operations, talent management, and compensation while ensuring programs are efficient, compliant, and built to scale. You’ll lead and develop a high-performing People Operations team, leverage AI and modern HR technology, and continuously improve how work gets done.

This role is ideal for a systems thinker who loves building, optimizing, and evolving people programs that grow with the business.

What You’ll Do:
Team Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a People Operations team, setting clear priorities and expectations aligned to business goals
  • Establish and evolve the People Operations function to support a growing, distributed organization
  • Partner closely with People & Culture leadership to translate company priorities into scalable people programs
  • Drive operational rigor through clear processes, documentation, metrics, and continuous improvement
People Operations Business Partnering
  • Serve as an embedded People Operations partner to a designated business group, building trusted relationships with leaders at multiple levels
  • Act as a coach and advisor to leaders on team effectiveness, performance management, engagement, and change management
  • Anticipate people-related risks and opportunities, proactively bringing insights and recommendations to leaders
  • Support leaders through key moments across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance conversations, compensation changes, and offboarding
  • Operate as a Chief of Staff-like partner, helping leaders connect people priorities to business outcomes
People Programs & Project Management
  • Design, implement, and scale core People Operations programs with a focus on employee experience, efficiency and scalability
  • Use data and insights to assess program effectiveness and inform future improvements
  • Leverage AI, automation, and modern HR technology to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Own and continuously improve systems, tools, and integrations across the People Operations tech stack
What We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or a related people-focused role
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing People Operations teams and/or leading complex, strategic people initiatives
  • Proven ability to design, scale, and optimize core people programs (including talent management, performance cycles, and compensation) in a fast-growing and evolving organization
  • Strong program ownership skills with experience managing complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and functions
  • A balance of strategic thinking and operational execution, you can set a clear vision, design scalable solutions, and ensure strong day-to-day delivery
  • Comfort working with HR systems and people technology; experience leveraging automation or AI to improve efficiency and reduce manual work is a plus
  • Clear, confident communicator who can simplify complex topics, influence leaders, and build trust with employees at all levels
Compensation Range: $130,000 - $160,000 CAD OTE annually, based on experience, market benchmarks and role complexity. We aim to offer fair, competitive pay that reflects your skills and the market.
